Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool - Registered Nurse

Job Description
- Float to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as part of a pediatric float pool.
- Provide care across multiple pediatric units including:
- Pediatric Acute Care Surgical (PACS)
- Pediatric Acute Care Medical (PACM)
- Pediatric Intermediate Care (PIMC)
- Pediatric Oncology (Hem/Onc)
- PICU
- NICU
- Care for pediatric patients with acute, intermediate, oncology, neonatal, and critical care needs.
- Floating between units is required.
- Every other weekend coverage.
- Patient ratio approximately 1-2:4.
- EPIC electronic health record experience required.
Shift Details
- Night shift
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Total 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.
- Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day.
- Background check within 6 months prior to start, including education and work history verification.
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel with methamphetamines listed, within 3 months prior to start.
- Primary source verification of RN license within 60 days prior to start.
- Two (2) manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required.
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position.
- Completion of facility-specific compliance modules prior to start, including:
- Information Privacy and Security Essentials
- Integrity Foundations
- Harassment Prevention Fundamentals
- Additional modules for RNs such as Vocera Badge Training, Glucometer, and Omnicell Nurse Patient Care Training (some exemptions apply).
- Facility professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Candidate must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Fit mask test required within one year prior to start (N95 or equivalent).
- Immunizations or documented immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (or signed declination)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (full series or signed declination)
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, TSPOT, or QGOLD) within 12 months prior to start, or documentation of positive TB with clear chest x-ray and annual questionnaire.
- Annual flu vaccination or signed declination required by December 1st.
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates.
Additional Notes
- Medication override test and other orientation materials will be provided but are not required before start.
- Candidate must complete Compass training modules prior to badge issuance and start date.
- No open court cases allowed; any background hits require a personal criminal history statement.
- Facility does not require annual background or drug screen updates unless there is a gap of 30+ days between assignments.
