CT Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: West Islip, New York
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT scans using advanced imaging protocols and techniques.
• Maintain and operate CT equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Analyze and interpret CT images accurately, identifying abnormalities for further evaluation.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide comprehensive diagnostic assessments.
• Document patient information, imaging protocols, and procedural details thoroughly.
• Prepare detailed reports of CT findings for physician review and patient medical records.
• Work every other weekend.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist.
• Recent CT Technologist experience within the last year.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Driver’s license or state ID with clear picture and address.
• 7-year background check completed within 30 days of start, including multiple federal and state-level screenings; must be updated annually.
• Education verification via diploma or transcript.
• State license verification required within 30 days of start; license issues will result in automatic cancellation.
• Facility-specific physical exam form completed by a physician within 30 days prior to start, including medical history and physical exam details. Must be updated annually.
• Fit test for N95 mask (Halyard Fluidshield or 3M 1860) completed within 12 months prior to start and updated annually.
• Proof of negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or PPD) within 1 year of start; if positive, clear chest x-ray and questionnaire required.
• Immunization or immunity proof for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (antibody and antigen results required; 3-series alone not sufficient)
• Standard 9-panel drug screen completed within 30 days prior to start; rapid tests not accepted; updated annually.
• Seasonal flu vaccination required October 1 – April 30; declinations allowed for religious or medical reasons on a case-by-case basis.
• COVID vaccine series preferred.
• Two clinical references required, supervisor level or above (Charge RNs acceptable).
• Employment history covering 7 years with explanations for any gaps; must include at least 1 year of experience in the specialty or comparable/higher acuity.
• Current skills checklist applicable to the position, updated within the last year.
• Compliance with New York State Medicaid Exclusion List screening within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
