Registered Nurse – GI Lab

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Work in a GI Lab unit with 11 pre/post procedure bays and 3 procedure rooms, exclusively serving GI patients.
Patient population: Adult to Geriatric.
Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM).
On-call required 1 night per week (3:30 PM – 7:00 AM) and 3 weekends per contract (Friday 3:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM).
Scrub color: Grey.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
Minimum 1 year of GI Lab nursing experience within the last year.
Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Competencies & Testing

Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for acute hospital RNs.
Pass/fail testing on EKG/medication knowledge required.
Orientation safety manual acknowledgement annually.
Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing policy.

Additional Requirements

Candidate must review and sign confidentiality agreement and code of conduct.
Complete demographic form prior to start.
Complete agency nurse orientation quiz with a minimum score of 84%.
Onsite fit mask testing provided; candidates must bring required forms to orientation.
AVADE training required if extending past initial contract (online pre-work and in-person skills validation).

Notes

Return travelers within one year may be required to retake AVADE training if not previously completed.
Return to office (RTO) limit: 2 requests per contract.

This position is ideal for experienced GI Lab RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment on day shift with on-call and weekend responsibilities.
