Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Saint Marys, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per week: 36
• May be asked to work day shifts as needed; flexibility required
• Scrubs color: Navy
• No local candidates within 50-mile radius considered
• First-time travelers are welcome

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification

Required Vaccinations and Health Documentation

• Tdap vaccination within the past 10 years (declination form accepted)
• COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination required
• Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Nov-April); mask required if declined through 3/31/2025
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines required; declination accepted with documentation
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer or 3 vaccine series required; declination accepted with documentation
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox required; declination accepted with documentation

Competencies and Additional Certifications

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
• Annual skills checklist required
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care units; online training accepted
• Comprehensive Crisis Management certification required annually for applicable units

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required
• Candidate must complete facility orientation packet and acknowledgements prior to start
• Photo for badge must be passport style, no filters
• Candidate must complete bloodborne pathogen quiz before start
• Candidate must complete medical surveillance checklist prior to start
• Declination forms must be completed if vaccines are declined

This position requires a flexible, experienced RN with appropriate Pennsylvania licensure and certifications, ready to work primarily night shifts in an Emergency Room setting.
