Job Opportunity: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

    • Minimum 2 years experience in Level 1 trauma OR
    • Level 1 trauma experience must be within the past 1 year

Shift Details

  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
  • On-call required: Yes, call shifts every 6 weeks
  • Shift flips: May occur 1 week every 4 weeks as needed
  • Floating: Yes, within scope between inpatient/outpatient OR areas (Pav A and Pav L)

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • CO DORA state license (Certified Surgical Tech license)
  • NBSTSA certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Job Responsibilities

  • Function as scrub tech for minor, major, and complex surgical procedures
  • Anticipate surgical team needs and maintain sterile field/processes
  • Pull instruments and supplies according to Preference Card
  • Facilitate room turnover
  • Perform surgical counts under RN supervision
  • Follow and consult team members regarding departmental policies

Additional Requirements

  • Locals within 75 miles accepted
  • Return to office (RTO) preferred 5 days or less
  • Must complete various background checks and verifications including:
    • 7-year background check (PBSA certified)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
    • State-specific checks (Colorado CAPS, CBI/FBI fingerprinting for behavioral health if applicable)
  • Health documents required:
    • Physical exam within 12 months, updated annually
    • N95 Fit Mask test within 12 months, updated annually
    • Immunizations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer or vaccine series)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start and within 48 hours of contract signing, annual updates required
    • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
    • COVID-19 exemption accepted (medical or religious)
  • Competency exams and training required annually (medication test, core competencies, OSHA mandatory)
  • References: 2 professional references verified within 3 years
  • Employment history verification and skills checklist required

Notes

  • Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Must be willing to work on-call shifts
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Must comply with all facility-specific documentation and training requirements prior to start

This position is ideal for CSTs with recent Level 1 trauma OR experience looking for a travel contract in a Level 1 trauma center environment.
