Job Opportunity: Transplant Coordinator (Registered Nurse)

Location: Los Angeles, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Project management for kidney transplant process optimization
  • Documenting processes and workflows
  • Writing policies and procedures
  • Reviewing workflows for optimization opportunities
  • Implementing and training staff on new or revised workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Valid California RN license
  • Transplant coordinator experience required
  • Kidney transplant experience strongly preferred
  • Nurse manager experience strongly preferred
  • Experience writing policies and procedures, mapping workflows and processes required
  • Transplant quality or performance improvement experience strongly preferred

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit/specialty (verify with employer)
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RNs

Required Background & Documentation

  • Current and valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID
  • Background checks including Social Security Trace, National Criminal History, Sex Offender Search, FACIS level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG (all within 30 days of start)
  • Education Verification: BSN or MSN required for RNs
  • NURSYS Verification within 30 days of start
  • Transcript/Diploma or official education verification
  • Physical Exam within one year of start, updated annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Negative TB test (QGold) within one year
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declination accepted)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccination proof
    • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination/declination
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (seasonal requirement)
    • COVID vaccine or declination (specific guidelines apply)
  • Drug screening (9 panel) within 12 months of start (Aya requirement)

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific onboarding documents and training modules (e.g., HIPAA, harassment prevention, abuse reporting, confidentiality agreements) prior to start
  • References: 2 required, supervisor level or above, one within the last year
  • Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Work history verification for last 5 years
  • Skills checklist and competency exams as required

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty years of experience: At least transplant coordinator experience required (minimum 1+ years implied by "experience required" and "strongly preferred" for related areas)
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
