Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule & Work Details

  • 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Thursday
  • Call one week approximately every 11 weeks; weekend work only if called in during call week
  • 40 hours Regular Time Off (RTO) can be approved
  • 50 mile radius travel rule applies

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
  • Experience working with Adult patients
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
  • Experience in an Inpatient setting

Certifications (as applicable to CT Tech)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, and others are specialty/unit dependent and may not apply to CT Tech
  • National certification verification required within 30 days of start

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
  • Education verification through a 3rd party vendor (official transcript acceptable; photocopy of diploma not acceptable)
  • Fingerprinting (Virginia VSP National Criminal Background Check) may be required depending on unit
  • Abuse Registry Search required only for Behavioral Health or specific units (not applicable for CT Tech)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (no declinations or exemptions allowed)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or Qgold within required timeframes)
  • Annual TB questionnaire if past positive
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; no declinations/exemptions accepted
  • Hepatitis B: Positive Hep B Surface Antibody titer required or negative Surface Antibody and Antigen titers within 6 months of start
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer required; declination accepted but will not hold clearance
  • Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen including Marijuana and Fentanyl within 2 months of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required annually with no exemptions or declinations accepted

Additional Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of various facility-specific forms prior to start (e.g., professional appearance guidelines, release authorization, TB screening, traveler compliance)
  • Fit testing required for patient-facing clinical roles, completed onsite if required
  • Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment not required for CT Tech
  • Radiation badge: Candidates must supply their own radiation badge; not provided by agency for new candidates

  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required

  • Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, updated annually
