Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Contract Length: 20 weeks


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • 1st time travelers accepted
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required

Patient Population

  • Neonates to Geriatrics

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification

Clinical & Work Environment

  • Level 3 trauma center (in process)
  • Primary stroke, CHF, STEMI, chest pain center
  • Patient ratio: 1:4
  • Unit size: 59 rooms, average 250 visits per day
  • Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Weekends: Every other weekend
  • Floating: Yes
  • Call: None
  • Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (up to 2 out of 3 if applicable)

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance required to start on time
  • Orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 19 hours for 19-week assignment)
  • Clinical screening required to determine fit before final approval

Required Documents & Checks

  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID (Photo ID)
  • Background Check (within 30 days of start) including:
    • County and national criminal searches
    • Education verification
  • Education Verification (degree related to nursing)
  • State Nursing License verification (Georgia)
  • NURSYS verification (RN)
  • Physical Exam (within 1 year)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 12 months)
  • TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
  • Immunizations:
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B series or declination
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (no pending results)
  • Flu Vaccination or Declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)

Competency Exams (Aya Required)

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Color Blind Testing (with alternative assessment if needed)
  • General Competency Exam
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for applicable units)

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
  • References: 2 clinical references required by Aya (not client)
  • Skills Checklist updated within 12 months required
  • Work history verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof)

This position offers a diverse patient population and a supportive clinical environment with established protocols and technology systems. It is suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of experience who hold the required certifications and are comfortable working in a trauma and specialty care setting.
