Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Location: Utica, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Work in a 42-bed ICU unit divided into East (20 beds) and West (22 beds) wings, including Neuro/Med (22 beds), CTICU (6 beds), and Surgical/Trauma (14 beds).
• Patient diagnoses include:

  • Neuro/Med: strokes, sepsis, altered mental status, neuro intervention (TCAR), respiratory failure, congestive heart failure, post-STEMI.
  • CTICU: cardiovascular surgery, cardiogenic shock, abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery.
  • Surgical/Trauma: trauma, major post-operative care.
• Use of specialty equipment such as IABP, CRRT (Prismaflex or NxStage), ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and targeted temperature management (Artic Sun).
• Floating required to all units except Behavioral and Emergency Room (unless holding).
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
• Scrub color: Navy.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Current, active New York RN license.
• Current AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex required.
• Heart experience highly preferred.
• EMR experience required: EPIC.
• Must provide 2 recent ICU Charge/Manager RN references.
• Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics.
• NURSYS report and all active RN licenses verification required.
• Return to Office (RTO) documentation must be included at submission.

• Unit-specific patient care and equipment expertise expected.
