Special Procedures Tech - Radiology

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Special Procedures Tech with experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) and Cath Lab procedures. The role requires moderate sedation experience and the ability to scrub and circulate during neurointerventional radiology cases.

Unit Information

Unit: Interventional Radiology
Beds: 2 single plane (GE) and 2 biplane rooms (Philips)
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 2 techs and 1 nurse per room
- Night Shift: 1 tech and 1 RN onsite
Patient Ratios: 1:1
Equipment: GE single plane, Philips biplane, and one invasive CT scanner
EMR System: Cerner (Radnet)

Typical Procedures

Dialysis work (Permcaths, fistulagrams)
Nephrostomy tubes
Arteriograms/embolizations
Y-90 treatments
G-tube placements
TIPS procedures
Inari cases
Cerebral arteriograms, coilings, pipelines
Mechanical thrombectomies
Vertebroplasties

Required Qualifications

Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
Cath Lab Technologist experience
Moderate sedation experience
BLS certification
ARRT certification

Preferred Qualifications

Vascular OR experience
Cath Lab experience
VI Registered

Work Schedule & Environment

Every 7th weekend required
One night secondary on-call during the week
Scrub color/attire provided by hospital
Floating area: Vascular OR (VOR)

Personality Fit

Flexible and a great team player

This position does not require prior travel experience.
