Nurse-patient ratio: 1:5-6 days and nights, must be able to take 6
Common patient types include adults and possibly older teens
Common diagnoses include pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory virus, orthopedic surgical patients, general surgery patients, spinal surgery patients, and urology patients
Cardiac tech is available 24/7
RN is not required to read own strips when telemetry is ordered
Nursing supervisor is available 24/7
Charge nurses are present on days and nights
Nurse aides are available with ratios of 1:8-1:10 and can do accuchecks and vital signs
Respiratory therapy support is available 24/7
RT equipment includes trachs, CPAP for OSA, BiPAP, and high flow
Floating may be to IMCU for MS assignments
No self-scheduling for travel RNs
Blocked scheduling can be accommodated at times
Weekend requirement is as needed
Holiday requirement is as needed
Call or standby may be required for low census or cancelled shifts
Orientation is 1.5 shifts
Navy blue scrubs
Expectations include teamwork, bedside shift report, and proactive patient rounding
