Shift

• 12-hour nights
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• 2 years of Med Surg experience
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Assignment Details

• Med-surg unit with 37 beds
• Patient ratios: 1:5-6 on nights
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirement
• May be asked to work holidays depending on schedule
• May float to another floor if competent to do so
• Self-scheduling is available, though scheduling is managed by the manager due to the short contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated if possible, while still meeting weekend requirements

Clinical Environment

• Telemetry patients are accepted and monitored centrally
• No vents on the unit
• BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow patients are seen
• Common diagnoses include COPD, sepsis, CVA, COVID, pneumonia, and post-surgical cases

Orientation

• 2 days in the department
• 1 day of hospital/EMR orientation

Additional Notes

• Local rate applies to clinicians within 50 miles
• Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
• No specific scrub color required; approved logo gear may be worn
