Schedule

• Nights
• 3x12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holiday rotation required
• May be asked to work 3 shifts in a row, but this is not guaranteed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN role
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Strong neuro experience
• Experience caring for stroke patients and implementing NIH stroke scale
• NIHSS in hand at time of submission
• EPIC experience required
• Must be a stepdown-qualified RN
• COVID vaccination required, with medical or religious exemption process available
• Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
• Previous permanent employees must have been gone for 2 years
• Previous travelers who completed 1 full year there must have been gone for 2 years
• Any license hits must be disclosed at time of submission

Unit Details

• Neuro stepdown and epilepsy monitoring unit
• 31 total beds
• Patient ratios: 1:3 for stepdown; 1:5-6 for floor/EMU
• Charge nurse coverage available 24/7
• Nursing assistants available on the unit
• Telemetry is present on the unit, and nurses do not read strips
• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7
• Floor vents are managed by RT and physicians; RN vent experience is not required

Floating

• May float to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10W

Orientation

• 2 shifts on the unit

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs
