Role Summary

• Med Tele RN in Tulsa, Oklahoma
• 13-week contract
• Days, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Experience titrating Heparin and Cardizem/Amiodarone drips
• Experience with Epic
• One supervisor reference from the most recent/current assignment; charge nurse references are not accepted
• DOB and SSN needed
• Must note if the clinician has ever worked for OSU

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching facility experience

Unit Details

• Med Tele RN
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 and can increase due to staffing and acuity
• Most patients are on tele
• Monitor techs are available 24/7
• Nurses must be able to read and interpret their own strips
• Charge nurse is usually free-float but may need a light patient assignment
• CNA support depends on census, with a ratio of 1:8-12
• RT equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP

Scheduling and Policies

• Self-scheduling with manager balancing
• Initial schedule will not be self-scheduled because the assignment starts mid-schedule period
• Minimum of 6 Saturdays or Sundays in a 6-week period
• Holidays are worked at manager discretion based on unit needs
• No holiday RTO approved
• Holiday call-ins result in cancellation of contract
• No call or standby requirement
• Call-off policy is 1 shift every 14 days per pay period
• Zero tolerance for hits on license or background check, regardless of age
• Black scrub top and bottom required
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

Orientation

• 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Modules are required before day 1 and take roughly 2 hours
• Day 1 includes classroom and unit orientation from 0700-1900, followed by unit time with a preceptor
