Job Details
- Specialty: Progressive Care Unit RN

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Unit: 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (IMC) with a 1:3/4 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity
- Patient Population:
- Dysrhythmias
- Cardiopulmonary conditions
- Sepsis
- High flow oxygen needs
- Behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
Requirements & Certifications
- Illinois RN License
- ACLS required
- BLS and NIHSS certifications
Work Environment & Support
- 9-bed CVU and 12-bed ICU units nearby
- Automated charting system
- One week of orientation provided
- Unit educator available to support staff
- High patient throughput typical of step-down units
- Medication drips commonly used include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine
- May work up to every other weekend
