Job Summary

• Accountable for the care of a group of patients in the Operating Room.
• Focus on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
• Assist in maintaining a financially stable unit and promote professional development emphasizing evidence-based practice.
• Supervise licensed and non-licensed staff members.
• Apply the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Provide patient and family education, comfort, and satisfaction.
• Mentor and precept staff.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to policy or patient condition.
• Initiate, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Facilitate and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
• Function as a mentor/preceptor and promote teamwork.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards.
• Engage in Practice Governance activities.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with orthopedic, general surgery, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, and urology cases

Shift Details

• Day shift: 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM (10 hours per day).
• Call required 7 days every six weeks, including 3 weekend days.
