Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR (Cardiovascular OR) position at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Cerner proficiency.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 24 OR rooms and an average daily census of 70–80
- Cardiovascular OR unit — this is a circulating position; scrubbing is not required
- Complex case mix includes heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO
- Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
- Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
- On-call required — approximately 100 hours per 6-week period, including 1 call weekend (Friday evening through Monday morning) per 6 weeks
- Floating required to other OR specialties and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license in hand prior to start date; IN temporary license also accepted
- Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR RN experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required for first-time travelers; candidates without it will be screened
- Cerner EMR experience required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
Additional Information
- This is a circulating CVOR role — scrubbing is not required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they have Level I Trauma experience
- Candidates must be available for an interview and should provide 2–3 days of availability
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are accepted for this Surgical Services position
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break; Indiana residents require a 180-day break
