Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• Adult Respiratory Services at a large hospital with 850 beds
• Unit staffed by 120 respiratory therapists
• Day Shift: 17-20 RRTs for adult service lines
• Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for adult service lines
• Patient Ratios: 10-25 patients per therapist
• Equipment includes:

  • GE R860 Adult ventilators
  • Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
  • Newport HT70 transport ventilators
  • Hamilton C1 ventilators
  • Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Current North Carolina Respiratory Therapist License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (CRT candidates will NOT be considered)
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT (highest required years of experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) certification

Job Responsibilities

• Perform all respiratory therapy tasks and functions within adult critical care units and floors
• Float across all critical care units as needed

Work Schedule & Environment

• Scrub color: Medium Gray/Pewter
• Weekend shifts required: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Varying on-call requirements

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position.
• The unit is a Level II trauma center with comprehensive stroke and neonatal intensive care units.
• The hospital is recognized for high clinical quality and safety standards.

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs licensed in North Carolina seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity adult respiratory care setting.
