Radiation Therapist Travel Position

Job Description

• Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by Radiation Oncologist.
• Interact with patients (all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics), physicians, nurses, family members, and co-workers.
• Provide patient education to ease fear and explain treatment and simulation processes.
• Set up patients accurately for radiation treatment and simulation using immobilization devices.
• Perform daily warm-up and checks of treatment machines and simulators; report any issues.
• Produce radiographs for simulation and safely tattoo treatment areas when applicable.
• Maintain audio and visual contact with patients during treatment.
• Schedule and verify daily treatments, weekly weight checks, and portal localization films.
• Conduct weekly chart checks to ensure treatment prescriptions and documentation are accurate and complete.
• Maintain treatment and simulation rooms, ensuring supplies are stocked and orderly.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Assist with patient transport and provide necessary patient support.
• Attend all required hospital and departmental in-service programs.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members.

Requirements

• ARRT certification (must be current and attached to resume).
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (must be attached).
• Experience using Elekta radiation therapy equipment.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shifts.

• This position involves working in a community hospital setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Must be able to follow detailed protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
