Unit Details

• Unit: Telemetry
• Beds: 36
• Patient ratio: 1:3 on mornings; 1:4 on evenings; 1:4 on mornings or 1:5 on evenings with patient care techs
• Floating: May float to MedSurg units
• Scheduling: Every 3rd weekend rotation and rotating holidays
• Documentation system: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Telemetry (1 year of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Management of vasoactive drips

Unit Environment

• Bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds are part of the patient experience expectations
• Typical procedures include central line or PICC line placement
• Equipment includes BiPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps
• The unit is a designated education unit
• New cardiac monitors allow visual monitoring of cardiac rhythm in each room
