Valid RN license in Texas
Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
NIH Certification
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience in a(n) Acute Care setting
Orthopedics experience

Preferred

2+ years ortho nursing experience

Clinical Focus

Care of med/surg ortho patients
Standard nursing skills: IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, communication with all members of the care team, documentation in EHR

Staffing and Schedule

Day shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, 2 PCAs, 1 unit secretary, 0-2 sitters
Night shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1-2 PCAs, 0-2 sitters
Maximum patient ratio: 6:1
Rotating weekends
