Registered Nurse (RN) - Nephrology Travel Position

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level III trauma center with 198 beds
• Nephrology unit is an extension of the Med/Surg units
• Unit has 24 beds, serving geriatric and adult patient populations
• Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6
• Equipment includes VS machines, bladder scanners, lifts, thermal imaging, IV pumps/tubes
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend requirement: Minimum 2 weekend shifts per month
• Call: None required
• Float: As needed per facility needs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Nephrology experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• Observation unit experience is a plus

Common Diagnoses & Treatments

• End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
• Peritoneal Dialysis
• Hemodialysis

• Position requires working in a scenic region with access to outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and sightseeing
• No call requirements
• Position supports a 36-hour workweek with day shifts and weekend coverage

This role is ideal for RNs with Med/Surg experience looking to gain or expand nephrology skills in a travel assignment setting.
