Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Saint Louis, Missouri

Employment Type

Travel contract
Contract length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Unit: Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown ICU)
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 4 shifts per week (4x12 hour shifts)
Weekly guaranteed hours: 48
Weekend hours: As needed
Call requirements: None
Float requirements: Required as needed/customary

Patient Population & Unit Info

Patient mix: Approximately 50% medical and 50% telemetry adult patients
Patient-to-nurse ratio: Typically 4-6 patients per nurse
Equipment: Standard nursing equipment on telemetry unit
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
BLS certification
ACLS certification
EKG certification or demonstrated EKG experience
Valid Driver's License

Job Summary

Provide nursing care in a 24/7 stepdown ICU environment
Support critically ill patients requiring telemetry monitoring
Perform EKG interpretation and advanced cardiac life support interventions
