Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Pediatric Respiratory Therapy
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12 (1830-0700)

Job Summary
- Provide respiratory care primarily for pediatric and neonatal patients.
- Demonstrate safe medication administration and adhere to all safety, confidentiality, and infection control policies.
- Participate in patient care coordination, including physician rounds and interdisciplinary communication.
- Perform technical respiratory therapy skills and assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
- Assess patient and family needs and provide appropriate education and care plan updates.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation.
- Manage respiratory equipment and supplies, including routine maintenance and stocking.
- Function as a preceptor or resource person as needed.
- Adapt to workload changes and demonstrate teamwork and flexibility.
Unit Information
- Pediatric Respiratory Department with approximately 62 beds across Pediatric, PICU, and NICU units.
- Patient ratios vary.
- Equipment used includes Draeger VN500, Hamilton G-5, Oscillator, Jet Vent.
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri.
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric respiratory therapy experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working with neonate or pediatric patients.
- General respiratory therapist experience.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Night shift schedule with no weekend or call requirements.
- Dress code requires black scrubs; other attire is not acceptable.
- Float assignments may be required within pediatric/neonatal areas.
- Emphasis on safety practices including fall precautions, restraint management, patient identification, and emergency procedures.
- Active participation in departmental meetings, daily huddles, and ongoing education/in-services.
