Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Rotating nights and days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM), alternating weekends
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Type: Labor and Delivery
Number of Beds: 32
Number of Staff: 150
Patient Ratios: 1:2
Staffing (Day & Night Shift):
- 1 charge nurse
- 1 co-charge nurse
- RNs to maintain 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratio
Equipment Used: Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, Ultrasound
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Permanent positions available on unit

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Preferred Qualifications

Internal fetal monitor placement competency
Experience in a high-volume (Level IV) Labor and Delivery unit
Previous assignments or employment within similar healthcare systems

Typical Procedures Performed

Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery (SVD)
Cerclages
Cesarean Sections (C-Sections)
Trial of Labor After Cesarean (TOLAC)

Work Environment & Culture

Team-oriented with emphasis on positive attitude
Dress Code:
- Scrubs must be navy blue
- T-shirts are not acceptable
- Solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts only
Adherence to attendance policy required
