Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
On-call: Stay late 1-2 times per week
40 hours per week guaranteed

Unit Information

Unit: Cardiovascular (CV) PreOp, located in The Heart Tower, 4 beds
Patient ratio: 1:1
Staffing includes RNs with support from CNC, secretary, and manager shared with CVOR
Equipment: GE Carescape Monitoring, Fuji ultrasound
Documentation system: Cerner

Job Responsibilities

Work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity patient area
Perform large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessments
Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
Transport patients to OR; assist with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU), including experience within the last year
Critical care experience
Rapid Response experience
Pre-Op experience
Certifications: BLS, ACLS
