Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Travel Position

Location: Marquette, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in a 200-bed specialty care hospital with a Heart & Vascular Institute and multiple specialty centers.
• Position based in the Cardiac Imaging department, specifically the Cath Lab.
• Variable shift start times at 7am and 8am.
• Weekend hours are on call; must be able to punch in within 30 minutes of call.
• Weekly hours approximately 36 (0.8 FTE).

Required Qualifications

• Cath Lab Technologist with 2 years of experience.
• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year.
• BLS.
• ACLS.

Skills and Experience

• Must have skills or be willing to train in:

  • General procedures: angiography, angioplasty, arterial line insertion, coronary angioplasty, CTO, intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, intravascular ultrasound, pan table, stent placement, thrombolysis, venography, wave wire.
  • Hemodynamic and other calculations.
  • Right and left heart catheterization.
  • Structural heart procedures.
  • Vascular interventional procedures including contrast administration, emergency procedures, peripheral, thoracic, pulmonary embolism (PE).
  • Electrophysiology (EP) studies.
• Common diagnoses treated include STEMI, NSTEMI, and other heart diseases.

Work Environment

• Equipment: Cath Lab Suite.
• Electronic Health Records: Merge Hemo and Cerner.
• Patient population: Adult and geriatric patients.
• Trauma Level: 2.
• Dress code: Scrubs provided.

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
• The facility is located in the central region of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the largest community in the area and home to Northern Michigan University.
• Weekend call frequency depends on the number of team members.
• Mutual respect is emphasized as part of the team culture.

Housing

• Housing is not provided but furnished housing options are available locally.
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel.
