Surgical Tech – CVOR Tech

Location: Silverdale, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced CVOR Tech for a travel contract in a hospital setting. The role involves supporting cardiac and vascular operating rooms, including cath lab proximity and robotics-assisted procedures.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday shifts
• Shift lengths: 8, 10, or 12 hours (varied start times, contract dependent)
• Block scheduling available
• Call shifts required:

  • 8-9 call days per month for techs
  • Call hours: 9 PM to 6:30 AM next day
  • Weekend call includes 12-hour day, 12-hour night, and 24-hour backup shifts
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
• Holidays covered by rotation

Clinical Environment & Duties

• Unit: CVOR with 4 suites
• Cases per day: 22-45 total across specialties (cardiac, vascular, thoracic)
• Robotics (Da Vinci XI) used for some procedures; training provided if no prior experience
• Cath lab and CVOR in close proximity; techs may assist with vascular cases
• Scrubbing preferred but not required for techs
• Floating between CVOR and Main OR possible, depending on experience
• EMR system: EPIC
• Orientation: 1 week floor-specific

Required Qualifications

• Valid CVOR Technologist license in Washington
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification

Additional Information

• Housing may be difficult; employer willing to work with block scheduling
• Charge nurse covers both Main and CVOR units
• Call coverage and weekend requirements apply to both techs and RNs
• Scrub color and supplies provided by employer
