Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Unit: Cardiac Pre and Post Op
Shift: Days (3 x 12-hour shifts per week)
Hours per week: 36
Patient Ratio: 1:2
EMR System: Cerner
Charge Nurse: Yes
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks
Holiday Requirement: Based on unit coverage (no guaranteed holidays off)
Scrub Color: Provided by hospital (Blue)
Telemetry Monitor: Phillips
Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
Pharmacy: Available 24/7
Floating: None
Orientation: 2 days floor-specific orientation
Common Patient Types: Cardiac Cath Lab Recovery, General Anesthesia and Conscious Sedation patients
Contract Details
- Minimum contract length: 13 weeks
- Weekly orientations on Mondays (except holiday weeks)
- No concurrent contracts allowed (cannot work two contracts simultaneously)
- Must have been off permanent staff at this health system for 12 months to qualify for travel assignment
- Travel teams must have their own vehicles
- Parking provided with shuttle to facility (night shift parking in garage)
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license (RN)
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
- ICU experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Prior travel experience required for Emergency Department and Neuro ICU (implied for this role)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (max 2 attempts; failure results in 6-month disqualification in region)
- Must pass a Day 1 pass/fail exam during orientation
- Competency in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs Lab pass/fail; exceptions for some units)
- Must maintain sterile field during procedures
- No facial piercings allowed; natural hair colors only
- Male candidates must be clean-shaven for fit testing

- Candidates must submit detailed profiles including unit size, hospital size, trauma level, and EMR experience
- No block scheduling allowed
