RN Centralized Registry Float

Overview

• Role: RN Centralized Registry Float
• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• 1 year of Med Surg experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association

Unit / Setting

• General medical and surgical units
• Floats only to other medical units

Clinical Experience / Skills

• General medical-surgical nursing care
• Assessments
• Care planning
• Inter-professional communication
• Use of the EHR
• IV pumps
• Wound vacs
• Heat/cooling pads
• Feeding pumps
• Feeding tubes
• Chest tubes
• Management of heparin and insulin drips
• IV therapy management

Procedures / Patient Population

• Colonoscopies
• Thoracentesis and paracentesis
• Bronchoscopy
• Minor surgeries including lap chole, incision and drainage, biopsies, and amputation
• Patients with chronic illnesses, GI issues, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders

Preferred / Unit Details

• Patient ratio: 1:5–6
• Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs
• Epic charting
• Unit equipment includes Pyxis machines, Accucheck blood glucose, Hospira IV pumps, SCDs, heating/cooling pads, and telemetry monitoring

Orientation

• Jump Start orientation
• 1 day of general hospital orientation
• Approximately 5 days of nursing orientation
• Epic classes included

Assignment Notes

• Local clinicians within 50 miles are subject to a 12% reduction in rate
• Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours per 13-week assignment
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation
