Location

Rockford, Illinois

Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

12-hour night shifts: 7p-7:30a
36 hours per week
Weekend rotation based on unit needs
Every other holiday

Unit Details

IMCU - 3S Intermediate Care
23 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3-4
Charge nurse is on shift 24/7 and ideally does not take patients, but may when necessary
CNA support is used on the unit
Monitor techs observe rhythms and rates; nurses interpret strips

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Stepdown experience with 1 year of experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS issued by American Heart Association
Experience with tracheostomy care
Experience with BiPAP
Experience with neuro checks
Experience with titratable drips
Experience with cardiac drips
Experience with IV insertion skills

Clinical Experience / Patient Care

Common patient types include stroke, cardiac, sepsis, and surgical
Common titratable or set-rate drips include heparin, nitro, cardizem, levo, cardene, and precedex
RNs work with CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow on the unit

Floating

Expected to float throughout the house except ER and OB

Orientation

1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation
12-hour nights during orientation

Additional Notes

Scrubs are not provided
No call or standby requirement
Negative drug screen required for all panels
Submission requires the last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off
