Job Summary
The Clinical Staff Educator provides education and instruction focused on clinical staff, acting as a resource for healthcare education and training programs. This role supports the development of educational initiatives in collaboration with department managers and clinical nurse coordinators. The educator will become proficient in simulation training using mannequins and software and works closely with the Quality Management team to promote continuous improvement and identify educational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver varied educational duties, adapting quickly between tasks without loss of efficiency.
- Plan, direct, and control educational activities independently.
- Evaluate programs and participant learning, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and handle information appropriately.
- Foster teamwork and cooperation through effective communication and empathy.
- Prioritize and reprioritize duties throughout the day to meet requests.
- Support hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in required education related to quality and accreditation programs.
- Assist with Quality Department activities as requested.
- Write educational objectives tailored for healthcare employees.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an educator
- Educator experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Operating Room (OR) experience

- Ability to work independently and communicate barriers to timely completion of assignments.
