Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Psychiatric Services department is a key member of the patient care team, providing direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process. Responsibilities include developing and updating individualized interdisciplinary care plans, evaluating patient outcomes, and identifying resources for patients.
The Crisis Psychiatric Unit cares for patients aged 5 and older with psychiatric illnesses such as major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, and psychotic disorders. Some patients may also require medical care or detoxification services.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maine
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of mental health nursing experience within the last year
- BLS Certification
- Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training prior to start
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
- Orientation of up to 16 hours is unpaid.
- The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
- Candidates who have previously held licensure at this facility will not be considered.
