Cardiovascular Cath Lab Tech

Job Summary

• Assist physicians with invasive cardiac and peripheral diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including temporary and permanent pacemaker placement.
• Assist with circulatory support devices such as IABP and Impella.
• Prepare and organize equipment and sterile trays for procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and monitoring setup.
• Calibrate and test transducers and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
• Operate power injector and fluoroscopy controls as requested.
• Calculate and record cardiac output, oximetry, and analyze hemodynamic data.
• Assist with vascular access, sheath removal, hemostatic closure devices, and radial access banding.
• Maintain inventory control and equipment maintenance.
• Participate in catheterization lab on-call responsibilities.
• Recognize and interpret cardiac arrhythmias.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, considering age, culture, and impairments.
• Lift at least 40 lbs, push/pull 100 lbs, and stand for a minimum of 4 hours daily.

Schedule

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM (10-hour shifts)
• 40 hours per week (4x10 schedule)
• Weekend and holiday work required (including 1 summer and 1 winter holiday)
• On-call required: minimum 7 shifts, maximum 10 shifts per period
• No float requirement

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
