Occupational Therapist NICU - Travel Position

Location: Salinas, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 8 AM start, 1 weekend per month
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Job Summary

• Provide Occupational Therapy interventions to NICU patients under supervision.
• Perform patient assessment, care planning, and education for patients and families.
• Administer age-appropriate care focusing on fine motor skills, self-help skills, development, and use of durable medical equipment.
• Coordinate with case managers for continuity of care post-discharge.
• Complete all required documentation and maintain cost-effective treatment plans.
• Assist with orientation and training of new employees and therapy students.
• Assume Charge Therapist duties as needed.
• Adhere to hospital safety standards and department objectives.
• Maintain professional courtesy with patients, families, and staff.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in California.
• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Minimum of 3 years of Occupational Therapy experience, including experience within the last year.
• NICU-specific Occupational Therapy experience.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Experience coordinating with CCS case managers.
• Skilled in developmental intervention.
• Skilled in durable medical equipment intervention.

• Ability to instruct and evaluate therapy students during clinical affiliations.
• Must be able to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
