Occupational Therapist NICU

Location

  • Salinas, California

Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • Travel assignment

Schedule

  • 1 weekend a month
  • 8:00 AM start time
  • 8 hours per day
  • 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pediatric Occupational Therapist license in California
  • Pediatric Occupational Therapist (3 years of experience)
  • Pediatric Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience working with Neonate patients
  • 1 year of NICU experience
  • Occupational Therapist experience

Role Overview

  • Provides occupational therapy interventions, including assessment, care planning, patient and family education, scheduling, documentation, and adaptive equipment issuance
  • Works with patients across age groups on the unit and provides age-appropriate care
  • Administers occupational therapy care plans for children, including fine motor skills, self-help skills, development, and durable medical equipment needs
  • Coordinates with a CCS Case Manager for patients who may need continued occupational therapy after discharge

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assists with orientation of new employees and volunteers
  • Instructs and evaluates therapy students and therapy assistant students during clinical affiliations
  • May assume Charge Therapist duties
  • Adheres to hospital safety standards and department objectives
