Occupational Therapist NICU
Location
- Salinas, California
Contract
- 13 weeks
- Travel assignment
Schedule
- 1 weekend a month
- 8:00 AM start time
- 8 hours per day
- 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Occupational Therapist license in California
- Pediatric Occupational Therapist (3 years of experience)
- Pediatric Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- 1 year of NICU experience
- Occupational Therapist experience
Role Overview
- Provides occupational therapy interventions, including assessment, care planning, patient and family education, scheduling, documentation, and adaptive equipment issuance
- Works with patients across age groups on the unit and provides age-appropriate care
- Administers occupational therapy care plans for children, including fine motor skills, self-help skills, development, and durable medical equipment needs
- Coordinates with a CCS Case Manager for patients who may need continued occupational therapy after discharge
Additional Responsibilities
- Assists with orientation of new employees and volunteers
- Instructs and evaluates therapy students and therapy assistant students during clinical affiliations
- May assume Charge Therapist duties
- Adheres to hospital safety standards and department objectives
