Job Opportunity: Staff Nurse Specialty Care
Location: Binghamton, New York
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week, every 3rd weekend
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care focused on protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering.
- Responsible for compliance with nursing standards, professional development, and patient advocacy.
- Promote a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Serve as primary or accountable nurse as assigned.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
- Administer medications safely using pharmacology knowledge.
- Manage resources effectively including staffing, time, and supplies.
- Comply with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in nursing governance, improvement initiatives, and peer review.
- Engage in professional development and mandatory education.
- Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practice.
- Support learning for new employees and students.
- Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned.
- Participate in Clinical Ladder Program as expertise develops.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of six months (0.5 years) acute care nursing experience within the last year.
- Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience using Epic electronic health record system.
