Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology X-Ray Tech
Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 36 hours/week, shift from 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday through Sunday
- On-call: Varied on-call duties required
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 years recent Radiology Tech experience (higher end of 2-3 years stated)
- Experience with GI procedures, General X-ray, C-arm use in the OR, and portable X-ray
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Experience with equipment/software such as Siemens, GE OEC, Ziehm, Shimadzu, Philips PACS, and Cerner
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Active Florida CRT and ARRT certification
- BLS certification required (AHA)
- Must have Epic experience
Requirements & Compliance
- Must comply with local radius rule (within 60 miles considered local)
- Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
- Background check within 6 months including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; updated annually
- Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start; must be updated every 5 years
- Physical exam within 6 months of start, updated annually; must confirm candidate is free of communicable diseases and able to perform job functions without restrictions
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Required immunizations and health documents:
- TB test (QuantiFERON only) or chest X-ray if past positive
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
- Annual flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination preferred (for tracking purposes)
- Annual fit test for approved masks (3M 1860 Regular or Small) required; no onsite fit testing or exemptions allowed
Certifications & Training
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC only
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, Tech Certifications)
- NIH Stroke Certification required for all RNs (accepted from AHA, Apex, Blue Cloud, or equivalent)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for nursing professions
- Color Blind Testing and Competency Exams must be updated annually
Facility-Specific Orientation & Modules
- Completion of multiple online orientation modules required prior to start, including but not limited to:
- Clinical/Online Orientation Module
- Annual Risk Management Course
- General Compliance & Ethics Training
- Code of Conduct
- Comprehensive Emergency Management Education
- Preventing & Reporting Workplace Harassment
- Various nursing-specific modules (e.g., Handling Hazardous Drugs, ICU Medical procedures, Stroke Core Measures, IV Medication Safety, End of Life Care, Procedural Sedation, PPE Donning and Doffing)
- Certificates of completion must be saved and submitted as proof
Additional Notes
- Badge photo required: passport-style, color photo on white background, no hats or sunglasses
- Two professional references required from within the last 2 years for candidates with direct patient contact
- Candidates must be able to pass all required background checks, drug screens, and health screenings prior to start
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
This position is ideal for experienced Radiology Technologists with strong procedural skills, trauma experience, and familiarity with advanced imaging equipment and hospital systems.
