Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
Specialty: Registered Nurse (OB, Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Start Date: January 12th or 26th preferred
- Must have experience in OB, Mother/Baby, and Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- May consider longer contracts
- No call requirement
- Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
- Work in all areas of LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
- Float to sitter role within the hospital as needed
- Float to a nearby hospital (27 miles away) for Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby as census and need arise
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- Unit: 15 bed LDRP with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
- Responsibilities include antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub nurse, newborn nurse at delivery, and couplet care
- Nurses perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens (training provided)
- Documentation system: EPIC
Required Certifications
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- NRP (AAP or American Medical Learning Center)
- AWHONN Intermediate and/or NCC C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
Preferred Certifications:
- AWHONN Advanced
- Scrub skills
Required Skills
- Circulate in OR
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- Triage skills
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (OB, Mother/Baby, L&D)
Additional Information
- Scrubs provided
- No Return to Office (RTO) first 8 days of contract
- Will be trained to complete newborn infant hearing screens using ALGO 5 Machine
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I-9 and E-Verify documentation required
- Government issued photo ID required
- Criminal background check within 45 days of start, including lifetime search back to age 18
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Education verification required (copy of highest degree or diploma)
- Michigan-specific fingerprinting required within 45 days of start
- Michigan Central Registry Clearance required for L&D and Mother-Baby units
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (must include pertussis)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 45 days of start
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Drug testing: 10 panel including Marijuana/THC within 45 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required for candidates starting after November 1
- Fit mask testing required (Honeywell DC365N95HC) with appointment scheduling instructions provided
