Job Opportunity: CRT (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics) - Travel/Contract

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 48 (facility open to 36/48 rotating schedule)
Schedule: Every other weekend, no call, 2 Fridays off in a 4-week schedule

Job Description

• Work in Level 3 Nursery with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) responsibilities.
• Must be able to attend C-Sections.
• Patient transports within the hospital are required.

Required Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Respiratory Therapist License (CRTT or RRT) in hand by July start.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required to work in NICU.
• Level 3 Nursery experience required.

Experience

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics.
• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated, but Level 3 Nursery experience is mandatory.
• Prior travel experience: Not required.

Certifications & Competencies

• Must maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
• Competency exams (medication/pharmacology, core competencies) required within 12 months of start and updated annually.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start.
• Annual TB questionnaire.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31), with exemptions and declinations accepted.
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel or expanded panel depending on hire date).

Background & Documentation

• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Government-issued photo ID matching candidate documentation.
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days.

Additional Notes

• Facility appearance policy must be reviewed prior to starting.
• No on-call duties.
• Transport duties within hospital required.
• Facility prefers 48 hours per week but open to 36/48 rotating schedule.
