EEG Tech Travel/Contract Job in California (Oakland)

Job Details

  • Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Work Setting: Both outpatient and inpatient settings

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
    • Preferred: ABRET, R.EEGT
  • Skills:
    • Ambulatory EEG
    • Electrode placement
    • Assist with Nerve Conduction Studies (Electromyography)
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Adult inpatient/outpatient experience
    • ICU experience
    • Seizure studies
    • Sleep Deprived EEG
    • SSEP (Somatosensory Evoked Potentials)
    • Ability to check, operate, and calibrate electromyographic equipment
    • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
    • Experience in community hospital settings

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Identification: Valid Driver’s License or Passport (photo ID, color, clearly visible)
  • Background Checks: Must be completed within 90 days prior to start, including:
    • SSN Trace
    • 7-year Nationwide, County, and National Criminal searches
    • FACIS Level 3
    • National Sex Offender Registry
    • OIG Sanction Search
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM verification
  • Education Verification: Highest level of education verified and must meet minimum requirements
  • Physical Exam: Within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, NP, or APRN confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
  • Fit Mask Test: Within 90 days of start; acceptable masks include 3M 8210, 3M 1860S, 3M 1860R; PAPR accepted if fit test failed (approval required)
  • Immunizations & Health Requirements:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or signed declination (TD not accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray updated annually
    • TB Questionnaire updated annually
    • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccinations or positive IgG titer)
    • Hepatitis B positive titer or signed declination (declinable)
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination proof
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination required annually by November 6; masking required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
  • Drug Testing: Oral saliva drug screen within 30 days of start; rapid tests not accepted; must cover specified analytes including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, opiates, oxycodone, PCP
  • Photo for Badge: Passport style, no filters, required for facility badge
  • Competencies: Must complete facility-specific competencies and new employee orientation modules by end of first day; failure to complete within 14 days results in termination
  • References: Two professional references required (Aya Healthcare requirement)
  • Employment History: Resume covering last 7 years and verification of past 3 years of employment required

  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
  • The facility uses EPIC electronic health records.
  • This role involves working in a community hospital environment.
