MRI Tech Travel/Contract Job in Madison, Wisconsin

Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Day (6:30 AM - 5:15 PM) or Evening (2:00 PM - 11:00 PM), Monday to Friday; weekends as needed, no call
  • Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
  • Contract Length: 17 weeks
  • Start Dates Available: July 20, July 27, or August 3

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Radiology/Cardiology
  • Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology
  • Certification required:
    • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)
      OR
    • ARRT Magnetic Resonance (MR) certification
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days prior to start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
  • Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and BID Form required within 90 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire and monthly thereafter
  • Drug screening required to meet clinical standards
  • Physical exam must be collected to meet agency standards (not facility required)
  • Various state and facility-specific screenings and verifications as mandated

Certifications and Testing

  • BLS certification by AHA required and must be kept current with renewal plans finalized before expiration
  • Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required depending on unit assignment
  • Telemetry Pass/Fail Testing required if applicable (not specific to this role unless assigned to telemetry units)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Tuberculosis (TB) testing: IGRA blood test or two-step skin test within required timeframes; negative chest x-ray if history of positive TB test
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 doses or positive titers required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
  • Varicella: 2 doses or positive titer required; medical or religious exemptions accepted
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series and positive antibody titer required for direct patient care or blood/body fluid exposure; declination form accepted if applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
  • Other vaccines or declinations as required by specific departments (e.g., Meningococcal for Microbiology)

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for badge must meet specific guidelines (passport-style, solid background, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
  • Completion of facility-specific communicable disease and exemption forms as applicable
  • Employment application and two clinical references within the last 3 years required
  • Annual skills checklist required

This position offers a structured weekday schedule with flexibility for weekend coverage and no on-call duties. It requires specific radiology certifications and clinical experience, along with comprehensive compliance and health documentation to meet facility and state standards.
