Job Overview
- Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
- Weekly hours: 36
- Schedule notes: Every other weekend; holidays as needed
- Floating: Must be willing to float to other telemetry floors as needed
- Patient ratio: 1:6
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Epic
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Peripheral central line care and management
- Ability to manage and interpret dysrhythmias
- Experience with Cerner
- Experience with Epic
- Degree from an accredited school, or a degree from a school approved by FBON plus 2 years of recent acute care experience
- The acute care experience, if used to meet the education requirement, must be consecutive within the past 24 months in a U.S. hospital
- Ability to manage drips
- Successful completion of Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks, abuse registry review, and screening for disqualifying offenses
- Government-issued photo ID
- E-Verify documentation
- Proof of name change, if applicable
- Two professional references
- Annual skills checklist
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam confirming the candidate is free of communicable diseases and able to perform the job without restrictions
- Annual fit test using approved mask options
- Negative TB screening or chest X-ray
- TB questionnaire
- Immunity or documentation for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen
- Seasonal flu vaccination documentation, declination, or exemption during flu season
