Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Tennessee
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ARRT
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Adult Critical Care experience
• Emergency Department (ED) experience
• Nebulized medication therapy (AeroEclipse, Aerobika flutter valves)
• Chest percussion and bedside parameters (FVC/NIF) for neuro population
• V60 BiPAP
• Transport ventilators
• Glidescope intubation
• Bronchoscopy system operation
• Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators
• Bedside bronchoscopies
• Percutaneous trachostomy

Candidate Requirements

• 2 supervisory references
• 7-year work history with no unexplained gaps over 30 days
• Unit-specific skills checklist within the last year
• Color blind testing within 12 months prior to start
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
• Competency exam
• Core Part I, II, and III competency exams
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray
• TB questionnaire
• MMR documentation
• Hepatitis B documentation
• Varicella documentation
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption, if starting between 9/1 and 4/1
• Drug screening within 45 days of start
• Background check
• Driver’s license or state ID
• Passport-style photo for badge
• Utility bill, mortgage statement, or lease showing address more than 75 miles from the contracted facility
