Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Unit Details
- Adult PCU with a 1:3–4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- 32-bed unit with an average daily census of 21
- May receive patients from CICU, MSICU, acute care floors, and the ED
- Clinical mix includes post-op CABG, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, respiratory failure, cardiac arrhythmias, DKA, GI bleed, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, metabolic disorders, renal failure, GI disorders, hypertensive emergency, sepsis, and neuro disorders
- Floating is required within the facility and scope of practice
- No call required
- Every other weekend required
Schedule Expectations
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off
- Major holidays may be required depending on how many fall within the assignment period
Compliance and Start Requirements
- Full compliance is required to start on time
- Background check must be complete before start
- Photo ID required
- Skills checklist within 12 months and updated annually
- Work history verification of most recent employer required
- 2 clinical references required
- Physical exam required by the staffing agency
- TB questionnaire required
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray required within 12 months of start
- Drug screen required within 60 days of start
- Flu vaccine or declination required
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation required
- Color-blind testing required
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required by the staffing agency
- Competency exam required by the staffing agency
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required
- Epic familiarity is listed in the source but not required as a credential
