Job Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Charleston, West Virginia
• 13-week contract
• Night shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• 4x12 schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Float within scope as needed
• 36-hour guaranteed contract option available
• Blocked schedule requests may be accommodated

Unit Details

• 29-bed adult medical-surgical oncology unit
• Cares for adult medical and surgical patients with cancer, palliative care needs, and urology/telemetry patients
• Strong candidates without oncology experience may be considered

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in West Virginia
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• ONS/ONCC
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License

Preferred

• Chemotherapy administration

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

• Flu vaccination or approved exemption is required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required
• Tdap vaccination is required
• Negative TB test within 3 months of start
• Drug screen within 30 days of start
• Annual fit testing required
• Annual skills checklist required for the specialty
• 1 reference from a manager, supervisor, or charge nurse
• Driver’s license and Social Security card required for submission
• Background check required
• State license verification required
• Nursys verification required
• Color blindness testing required
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required
• Inservice training modules must be completed before start

Additional Notes

• Candidates must limit holiday time-off requests to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
• Parking is free for travelers
• Scrub color: royal blue/white
• Cerner is used for charting
