<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Oct 12, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring documented NICU III and PICU skills experience.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Based in a Level III NICU with float responsibilities to PICU, PEDS, and Mother/Baby (excluding maternal care)</li><li>Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM</li><li>37.5 hours per week with every other weekend (Sat/Sun) required</li><li>Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 designated holidays</li><li>Patient assignments based on clinician skill set with ratios varying by acuity</li><li>Neonatal patient population including infants less than 24-28 weeks gestation</li><li>Uses Epic charting system</li><li>Navy pants and Peds top scrub color required</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active NJ or Compact RN license required</li><li>BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP highly preferred</li><li>Minimum 1.5 years of NICU experience required</li><li>Documented NICU III and PICU skills experience required in employment history</li><li>Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central/implanted line care, UAC/UVC management, dysrhythmia interpretation, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), and neonatal abstinence syndrome care</li><li>Experience with feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement/management required</li><li>Experience administering IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants required</li><li>Isolation precautions and PPE competency required</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide direct patient care in NICU with float coverage to PICU, PEDS, and Mother/Baby units as needed</li><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>Former RWJBH employees (FT or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler</li><li>Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers</li><li>Open or active background/license hits are not accepted</li><li>Clinicians who fail competency exams must wait 6 months before reapplying</li></ul>
