Medical Surgical RN Travel Contract

Location

• Fishersville, Virginia

Assignment Details

• Travel/contract role
• 13-week contract
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units is expected at times
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed, but shifts may be grouped when available

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Candidate Requirements

• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates not accepted within 50 miles
• Must be willing to care for pediatric surgical patients age 12 and older, depending on procedure

Clinical Setting

• Fast-paced inpatient surgical unit
• Common case types include general, abdominal, urological, orthopedic, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine, and bariatric surgery

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• 2 professional references
• Current application/resume
• Skills checklist for the applicable specialty
• Background check and required screenings
• Drug screen within 30 days of start
• TB testing and questionnaire
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit testing for a respirator
• Tdap within the past 10 years
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Review and sign required facility policies and acknowledgements before start
