Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), either 3 or 4 shifts of 12 hours each
Patient Ratios: Typically 1:6; may flex to 1:7 during unplanned absences
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On-call Requirement: Yes, as needed for low census
Floating: Required to float within scope to meet unit/facility needs

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in South Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
Rapid Response team experience
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Block scheduling: May be requested but not guaranteed
Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
Travel radius: Within 60 miles of Florence, SC
Hurricane Season: Assignments may include emergency response duties from June through November; peak activity in August and September

Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
Respirator medical clearance annually (for patient-facing roles)
COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
Clinical references and recent performance evaluation required
Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Orientation & Facility Specifics

Completion of orientation modules prior to start is mandatory (approx. 4 hours)
Clear, passport-style photo required for badge
Various signed agreements and acknowledgments required before start (e.g., confidentiality, code of conduct)
