Job Description

Seeking a Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for day shifts, Monday through Friday. Must hold all required certifications and licenses relevant to the role.


Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid RN license for California (Nursys verification required at onboarding)
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
    • BLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
    • DCI/BVP (Workplace Violence Prevention training)
  • Exams and Testing:
    • Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%)
    • Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening (minimum 80%)
    • Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)
    • Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
    • Skills Checklist (no expiration on assignment)
  • Professional Requirements:
    • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (valid for 2 years)
    • Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport
    • OIG Exclusion Search
    • Resume (up-to-date with recent work history)
    • Two professional references (one from a manager or direct supervisor)
    • Criminal Background Check (national, within one year of start date)
    • Badge Photo (clear headshot)
    • Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
    • Education Verification (Diploma or Transcripts if third-party verification unavailable)
    • Agency Attestation (completed after all credentials uploaded)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Drug Screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC saliva test (within 60 days of start)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Two doses plus booster or completed declination
  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer showing immunity
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination required (declinations not accepted)
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
  • TB Test: Within one year of start date
  • Varicella: Vaccination or titer showing immunity
  • Tdap: Adult vaccination required (declinations not accepted)
  • Physical/Health Statement: Annual clearance to work required

Additional Information

  • Annual Respirator Fit Test required prior to start
  • Name Verification Affidavit recommended if discrepancies exist between credentials
  • Orientation Packet and Job Description must be signed and current within the year
