OR - RN Specialty Position
Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Certifications / Licenses
- BLS
- RN license in North Dakota or Compact license
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent OR RN experience
- Experience in a large hospital (250+ beds) with Level 1 trauma status
- Experience working in an acute facility with 15+ OR suites (outpatient center experience not suitable)
- Experience with robotics, DaVinci preferred
- Experience with Neuro/Ortho procedures and navigation
- Strong general and ENT surgical experience
Job Duties
- Circulating nurse responsibilities including:
- Documenting and caring for patients in the operative setting
- Sterile prepping of surgical sites
- Catheter insertion
- Opening sterile supplies
- Positioning patients for surgical procedures
- Documenting within an electronic record system
- Utilizing and setting up operating room equipment as directed
Equipment Used
- Computerized charting modeled after EPIC system
- Accudose
- Cautery
- Lasers
- Laparoscopic equipment
- Arthroscopy equipment
- Stealth navigation for Neuro cases
Shift / Schedule
- 8 to 10 hour shifts, 40 hours per week
- Shift hours approximately 1 PM to 9 PM
- May need to stay late as cases run over (this is an extension of the regular shift, not call back)
- Rotate to PM shift in rotation with all staff
- Call required 1 to 2 days per week and every 3 to 4 weekends
Unit Details
- 25 OR suites
- 75 to 100 cases per day on average
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1:1
Floating
- May float rarely to Broadway or South University campus if needed
Additional Information
- Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Scrub color provided: Ceil Blue
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Candidates living 60 to 80 miles away may qualify for local travel rate with a rate reduction
- Must disclose if previously worked for the facility; if yes, last end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission
This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with strong acute care and surgical experience, particularly in large hospital settings with advanced surgical technology.
